Sports Correspondent,DHAKA (BN): Dhaka Dynamites beat Rajshahi Kings by 56-run in the final of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)-2016 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur of Dhaka Friday.
This was Dhaka’s third trophy in four seasons of the franchise-based T20 cricket of Bangladesh.
After losing the toss, Dynamites were invited to bat first in the match that began at 5:45 pm.
Dhaka scored 159-run losing nine wickets from their 20-over quota. Evin Lewis, Kumar Sangakkara, DJ Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan and Sunzamul Islam scored 45, 36, 13, 12 and 12 runs respectively helping the team to set the target.
Farhad Reza picked up three Dynamites’ wickets while Kesrick Williams, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain and Samit Patel took one wicket each.
In response, Rajshahi managed to score 103-runs only losing nine wickets from 17.4-over. Kesrick Williams was retired hurt. Mominul Haque, Sabbir Rahman, Samit Patel scored 27, 26 and 17 runs respectively.
Abu Jayed, Shakib Al Hasan and Sunzamul Islam picked up two wickets each while Andre Russell and DJ Bravo took one each.
