PM receives HSC results

DHAKA, July 23, 2017 (DNA)- The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the results to the premier at her official Ganobhaban residence here this morning.

A total of 8,01,711 students passed the exams out of 11, 63, 370 appeared from 10 educational boards, including Madrasa Education Board and Technical Education Board.

The combined pass rate of all the 10 education boards is 68.91 percent, and a total of 37,726 students obtained GPA (grade point average)-5.

The pass rate in eight education boards is 66.84 percent, while 77.02 percent came out successful in Madrasa Education Board and it is 82.33 percent in Technical Education Board.

Later, the chairmen of 10 education boards handed over results of their respective boards to the prime minister.

The prime minister later talked to teachers, students, guardians, public representative and officials of the administration in Shariatpur and Lalmonirhat districts through videoconferencing on the occasion.

PM’s Principal Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Joynul Abedin, Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim were present, while Education Secretary Sohrab Hossain conducted the function.
