Quader calls BNP not to do politics with haor people

DHAKA, April 29, 2017 (DNA BD) – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday urged the BNP leaders not to do politics with the plight of the haor people.

The ruling party leader made this call while he was talking to the journalists after paying tribute at Banani graveyard marking 64th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal, second son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, here yesterday

“BNP went to haor regions for a day in a photo session and after returning from the areas they are delivering political speech on the issue, ” said the minister.

Asking BNP leaders not to do politics with the sufferings of haor people, he said the government is working at the haor area round the clock.

The ruling party leaders including local leaders are also working with the government, he added.

Awami League organizing secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury MP, Office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap and other ruling party leaders, among others, were present.

Earlier, the ruling Awami League and its other associate organizations also paid tributes at the graveyard of Sheikh Jamal.

The ruling party leaders then offered fateha and special munajat at the graveyard.
